The “MEZTLI TEPEYOLLOTL” MONDTANCE RITUAL 2025 takes place from 5.08. to 11.08. takes place.
We are happy that you hear the call of community, dancing, praying and supporting in the moonlight in the mountains of Switzerland.
“Meztli Tepeyollotl” means ‘moonlight in the heart of the mountains’. This name stands for the pure intention of our prayer to strengthen our inner light.
As we dance this prayer, we remember the ancient wisdom of inner peace so that we can live with more compassion, unity and love for all relationships on this earth. At the same time, we strengthen our resilience, get to know our triggers and connect with other women.
This ritual is organized by the association “Mondtanz Schweiz”.
This year, 2025, the 3rd complete Moon Dance Switzerland will take place under the direction of Melinda Nina Garcia / Xiuh Quetzal and the care of grandmother Ana Carmona Itzpapalotl (leader of the mother circle “Meztliyoliliztli” in Costa Rica).

Who is welcome to dance?
Any woman who feels the call to pray in a circle under the full moon for connection, remembrance and inner peace.
What are the prerequisites for dancing?
All new arrivals should have a “Madrina”, a godmother, a sister who has already fulfilled her obligation and danced for 4 years.
I don't have enough money to participate. Is it possible to get a discount?
Basically, everyone should be able to dance, regardless of their financial situation. We believe that a healthy relationship with money is also part of this prayer. There are countless ways to raise money through friends and family or by saving early and consistently. That is a journey in itself.
However, if you are a single mother, a family or an elderly person with limited financial resources, please write to us and we will find ways for you to get involved.
I'm pregnant, can I come and dance?
Yes, you are very welcome. Together we will find out how we can best take care of you and your needs.
Can I take part for just a few days?
No. This ritual consists of a well-built container of 7 days, including one day of familiarization and one day of integration, which supports the process and procedure.
Can friends and family come to visit and watch?
This year, for the first time, it is possible to witness the sacred ceremony on the 4th night on August 19th.
A special invitation procedure will be communicated via the participants.
Do I have to commit for 4 years if I sign up for the Moondance?
No, you don’t have to.
This ritual is a path that goes primarily through the heart. You may not yet be sure whether you are ready to participate in the ritual.
The first year can help you discover the ritual and feel whether you have the desire to continue on this path in life. Above all, it is a conscious decision that comes from the heart and not from the mind or a commitment.
You also have the option of registering as a helper first to discover the ritual and better feel if this path resonates with you.
From the moment you decide to receive and wear a prayer pipe, you commit to dancing in this circle for at least four years. The four years represent the four elements and a cycle. It is recommended to experience this cycle for a lifetime. This can mean 4 consecutive years or at your own pace.
I don't have a “Madrina” / big sister. Can I register anyway?
Yes, of course, if you feel called, by all means. Then we recommend you come to the singing circles, Info-ZOOM-Calls or other Moondance events to get to know the circle and the experienced dancers.
Can my underage daughter dance?
If your daughter is interested, we recommend that she joins the childcare team together with her partner or grandparents. This way, she will get to know the room and can register for the coming year if she still wants to. In this way, your daughter returns to a familiar space and can find her way around more easily.
In general, we recommend that you take the 7 days as a woman for the first few years to be completely to yourself in your process. This will allow you to come back to your family inspired and strengthened, instead of continuing to look after your family during the dance and thus being more on the outside than on the inside. Experience has shown that it is a great gift for the men to spend these days in the field with their child/children.
